Soundtrack for ‘The Story of Wax Trax! Records’ Gets Record Store Day Release

Record Store Day and Vans are teaming up to release a special edition soundtrack for the music documentary Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records on Record Store Day, April 13, 2019 .

The album features previously unreleased songs by Wax Trax! artists.

It will be available at independent record stores across the United States.

To coincide with the album launch, Vans will embark on a multi-city Wax Trax! experience featuring screenings of the film, live Q and A, and a performance by rock legends, Ministry performing an early ‘90s era Wax Trax! set. 

On Record Store Day, April 13, House of Vans Chicago (113 N. Elizabeth St., Chicago) will kick-off the first of six stops. 

VIP tickets to the Vans and Wax Trax! events will be available through select independent record stores on April 13 with the purchase of the Wax Trax! Soundtrack and include access to the film screening, Q and A and live performance.

A limited amount of general admission tickets to the live performance will be available for each event experience. Fans can also RSVP for a chance to see the performance portion of the events at vans.com/recordstoreday .

Wax Trax! was a Chicago record store and label that gave rise to punk and industrial music of the 1980s and 1990s. Wax Trax! fostered and encouraged a safe place for artists and outsiders. 

The soundtrack includes musicians closely aligned with the label and music scene including Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, The Young Gods, Pankow, KMFDM, Revolting Cocks, FRONT 242, Mussolini Headkick, Laibach and Chris Connelly.
